Lodge Safaris Mid-range Safaris

Three days is the honest Amboseli short loop from Nairobi: a road in, a full day with the elephant families, a road out. You sleep under Kilimanjaro, not in a city hotel with a dawn departure that never quite works. The mountain shows when the cloud lifts. We wait.

Super Luxury arranges the lodge — camping through high-end. The Arusha office remains your contact. Park fees, the vehicle and the game drives sit on the quote; international flights and the Kenya eTA do not.

Elephant herd under Kilimanjaro country

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

Elephants in Amboseli with Kilimanjaro

Nairobi to Amboseli is four to five hours on a real Kenya road, not a hidden game drive. You leave after breakfast, watch the plains open toward Kilimanjaro, and you still do not treat arrival as a full safari day. Afternoon in the park if the clock allows.

Super Luxury remains your Arusha contact. A Kenya driver-guide and a Kenya vehicle run this loop. The lodge is named on the quote.

Overnight in Amboseli, with the mountain as the rumour on the horizon.

Day 2: Full day in Amboseli National Park

Kilimanjaro over the Amboseli flats

When the cloud lifts, Amboseli is elephants against Kilimanjaro. You have already seen the photograph. The real thing is slower and better. Dry lake bed, swamps and dust: a stage for huge families, and for hippo and waterbirds in the same frame.

Not a tick at the gate. A full afternoon or a full day. We wait; the mountain is shy.

Overnight in Amboseli, with the mountain as the rumour on the horizon.

Day 3: Amboseli to Nairobi

Leaving Amboseli for Nairobi

Amboseli to Nairobi is four to five hours. We drop you at the airport or a town hotel. Do not book an international departure before 19:00. This is a travel day.

When to travel

Season and routing

Amboseli is at its clearest for Kilimanjaro views in the dry months (June–October and January). The mountain is shy on dusty middays; we wait.

Where you sleep

Choose your stay style

Four ways to travel the same parks. Pick one style for the whole safari, or mix nights — we quote what you actually want. Names below are properties we often confirm. The lodge or camp on your quote is the booking; nothing here is reserved until you approve it.

  1. Camping Safari tents, a cook, the night sounds of the park. The honest, close-to-the-ground way to safari.
  2. Mid-range En-suite lodges and tented camps we use most — a proper bed, a shower, and the game still at the door.
  3. Luxury Pools, full-service dining, the better rooms in the same parks.
  4. High-end Suite camps and private houses when the trip is built around silence and space.
