Lodge Safaris Safari from Zanzibar

Five days on Zanzibar with a clear split: Stone Town first, then the north-coast beach. We include a guided town walk and a spice-farm visit. We do not list “leisure time” as a package item — free hours on the beach are simply how the hotel days work.

Airport collections and the hotel nights named on your quote are included. Choose mid-range, luxury or high-end. Snorkel boats and dhow sunsets are extras if you want them.

Nungwi beach, Zanzibar

Day 1: Arrival in Stone Town

Zanzibar Stone Town harbour

Meet at Zanzibar Airport or the harbour and transfer to your Stone Town hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in — rooftop, harbour, a slow first plate of seafood.

Overnight on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote.

Day 2: Stone Town walking tour

A Stone Town alley, Zanzibar

We walk Stone Town with a local guide so you are not lost in the same three streets every brochure uses. It is the other Tanzania — carved doors, the Darajani market, the waterfront fort, alleys that smell of cloves and the sea.

This is how the safari half leaves your shoulders. The afternoon is yours: a rooftop, a coffee, a slow dinner.

Overnight on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote.

Day 3: Spice farm to the north coast

Spice farm, Zanzibar

The right kind of tourist morning is a spice farm: cinnamon bark, vanilla, a coconut opened in front of you. You leave with a clear sense of why this island mattered to every dhow that ever rounded the Horn.

We drive you to the beach hotel named on the quote. Safari behind you. Ocean not a rumour anymore.

Overnight on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote.

Day 4: North-coast beach

Zanzibar coastline

Swim. Sleep. Nungwi and the north coast are why people add Zanzibar at all — pale sand, a reef you can snorkel, a horizon with nothing on it but dhows. We do not pad the quote with extras you did not ask for. A Mnemba boat only if you want it.

Still the island hotel on the same itinerary as your Serengeti nights. Still the Super Luxury office in Arusha as your WhatsApp line.

Overnight on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote.

Day 5: Departure from Zanzibar

Dhow sail over Zanzibar

Transfer to the airport or harbour, which ends the holiday.

When to travel

Season and routing

The island is a beach finish in any month. Short rains come in November and long rains in April–May; lodges stay open. Spice tours and Stone Town walks run in all seasons.

Where you sleep

Choose your stay style

Four ways to travel the same parks. Pick one style for the whole safari, or mix nights — we quote what you actually want. Names below are properties we often confirm. The lodge or camp on your quote is the booking; nothing here is reserved until you approve it.

  1. Camping Safari tents, a cook, the night sounds of the park. The honest, close-to-the-ground way to safari.
  2. Mid-range En-suite lodges and tented camps we use most — a proper bed, a shower, and the game still at the door.
  3. Luxury Pools, full-service dining, the better rooms in the same parks.
  4. High-end Suite camps and private houses when the trip is built around silence and space.

A well-run north-coast hotel with a swim-out beach, named on your quote.

Luxury

Gold Zanzibar, Zuri Zanzibar, or a similar boutique beach lodge with a reef boat on call.

High-end

&Beyond Mnemba Island, Kilindi Zanzibar, or a similar hideaway when the quote is built around the reef.

Before you book

Practical notes

  • This is a beach and town holiday, not a safari. For parks, book the three-day fly-in from Zanzibar or a nine-day safari-and-beach combination.
  • Day 5 is a departure transfer. International flights are not included.
