Digital itinerary
Nine days splits the trip the way most guests actually travel: a proper safari first, then the island. You keep the Land Cruiser loop through Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro for five safari days, fly to Zanzibar on day 6, and spend three nights on the island. Day 9 is your departure.Super Luxury books both halves from Arusha. Choose camping or lodge class on safari, then the beach hotel on the island — camping, mid-range, luxury or high-end — confirmed on one quote. The domestic flight from Arusha or Kilimanjaro to…

Starts in Arusha and ends in Zanzibar.
Start: Arusha End: Zanzibar
Breakfast, then Arusha behind you. About two hours on, the farms fall away and you meet baobabs, the park gate and the river in that order. Tarangire is the start of the safari. It is not a transfer with a short game drive tacked on. The Land Cruiser is private, with a pop-up roof, and the window seat is yours for the whole trip.
Come for elephants. Dry months concentrate whole families on the Tarangire River and in the Silale swamp. Giraffe work the acacias. Lion lie in the shade of the same giants you came to photograph. Stay for a picnic; be in the park when the light tilts and the herds move toward water.
Your Super Luxury Safaris' Guide knows which track is quiet that week. No convoy from a distant call centre. The Super Luxury Safaris Team answers WhatsApp after dinner.
Overnight: in the Karatu highlands, in the camping, mid-range, luxury or high-end lodge named on your
Today you open the horizon: Iraqw farmland on the climb, the Ngorongoro viewpoint as a pause, Naabi as the drop onto a Serengeti grassland so wide it rearranges how you think about space. The Seronera River owns the afternoon. Lion on the kopjes. Leopard in the sausage trees if the day is kind. Zebra and gazelle on the open grass.
Most guests booked with this moment in their heads. We do not rush it. Picnic or late lodge lunch, then a slower drive, arriving in camp while the sun is still on the plains.
Dinner and overnight in the Serengeti, in the camp or lodge class named on your quote.

Today there is no long transfer. Sleeping in the Serengeti instead of driving through it is the point. Cool start, picnic on board, stay with whatever the morning offers — hunt, crossing of resident herds, a kopje that has a leopard on it if you sit still.
From December to March, if the calves are on the short grass, we can lean south toward Ndutu. In the dry months we work the riverine strips. A balloon at first light is there if you want it; it is not hidden inside the base package. Your own vehicle, the rest of the day yours, a Super Luxury Safaris' Guide who would rather you see one pride well than ten animals from a traffic jam.

You game-drive east toward the crater highlands after a last dawn on the plains. On the open slopes the conservation area still holds giraffe, eland and Maasai herds. The transfer is not empty tarmac.
Evening: rim or Karatu. Caldera below you if the lodge class you chose sits on the edge. Sleep early. The descent is tomorrow.
Overnight: on the Ngorongoro rim or in Karatu, depending on the lodge class you chose
The grass is still cold; drop of roughly 600 metres onto the crater floor. The morning that sells the northern circuit. Short grass: zebra, wildebeest, buffalo. Pools: hippo. Open ground: lion, often. Black rhino: never guaranteed, and we never pretend they are. Fairest chance you will have: this closed caldera.
Still looking, not watching the clock — that is the pace, and you will talk about this day for years. Picnic lunch on the floor. Not a rushed snack at the gate. Climb out with time to wash off the dust.

The Land Cruiser’s work is done. We drive you to Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airport for the included domestic flight to Zanzibar — a short hop that turns dust into salt air in under an hour.
A driver meets you on the island and takes you to Stone Town or the north coast, depending on the hotel named on your quote. Tonight you eat seafood and sleep to the Indian Ocean, not to a generator in camp.
Overnight: on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote
Stone Town is the other Tanzania: carved doors, the Darajani market, the waterfront fort, and alleys that smell of cloves and the sea. We walk it with a local guide so you are not lost in the same three streets every brochure uses.
The afternoon is yours — a rooftop, a coffee, a slow dinner. This is how the safari half leaves your shoulders.
Overnight: on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote
Nungwi and the north coast are why people add Zanzibar at all: pale sand, a reef you can snorkel, and a horizon with nothing on it but dhows. Swim. Sleep. Add a Mnemba boat only if you want it — we do not pad the quote with extras you did not ask for.
The Super Luxury office in Arusha is still your WhatsApp line. The island hotel is still on the same itinerary as your Serengeti nights.
Overnight: on Zanzibar, in the town or beach hotel named on your quote
Transfer to the airport or harbour for your onward flight, which ends the trip. This is a transfer day, not a safari or beach day. Keep the morning free if your international ticket is early.
When to travel
Year-round wildlife. December to March we can sleep toward Ndutu if calving is on. July to October we can place Serengeti nights toward the Mara River if you want crossings. The day order below is the standard loop; we only change camp locations, not the number of nights, when you send dates. The island is a beach finish in any month. Short rains come in November and long rains in April–May; lodges stay open. Spice tours and Stone Town walks run in all seasons.
Where you sleep
Four ways to travel the same parks. Pick one style for the whole safari, or mix nights — we quote what you actually want. Names below are properties we often confirm. The lodge or camp on your quote is the booking; nothing here is reserved until you approve it.

Serena Serengeti Safari Lodge, Melia Serengeti Lodge, Mbalageti Serengeti — pools, full-service dining and a view over the plains.
